March 23, 2010 Efficiency Study Proposal to Council
The Efficiency Study that I developed and proposed to the Council (see embedded video), and Council ultimately adopted, reduced our 2011 General Fund Expenditures almost ONE MILLION DOLLARS! This effort corrected our staff size to reflect the impact of the Great Recession. Though painful, these needed changes reduced staffing by 5%, and this resulted in the $950,000 savings.
2009 UPDATED GAS WELL ORDINANCE
I chaired the Gas Well Ordinance Review Committee that resulted in an updated ordinance that doubled setbacks (300 ft to 600 ft) and for the first time in Keller, instituted many environmental protections. This ordinance balances the rights of the surface owner and the rights of the minerals owner.
2008 VISIONING PROCESS
When running for Council, I proposed a series of Town Hall meetings to resolve the issue of Apartments in Town Center. The resulting Visioning effort eliminated apartments as an approved use in the new Town Center development ordinance.
